Celebrating five years on George Street

24 June 2014
It has been five years since Dental Protection moved into its Edinburgh home, to support members working in Scotland, and it’s been an exciting and busy period. In that short period of time the number of dental members has doubled and staff numbers have increased to ensure that we continue to provide exceptional service.

Hugh Harvie and Helen Kaney were the first dento-legal advisers to occupy the George Street office, and they have since been joined by Martin Foster, Claire Walsh and Terry Simpson. In addition there are three local advisers; dentists Gordon Smart in Inverness and Stewart Scott in Aberdeen, and dental hygienist Shaun Howe based in Shetland. Scotland is well represented on the DPL Board of Directors in the shape of Charles Ormond who is based in Falkirk and Professor John Gibson, from the University of Glasgow,

To celebrate the five years of growth, it was decided to share something special with members in Scotland. Dental Protection teamed up with Sheila Scott and has published her latest book Putting Health at the Heart of Your Practice. The book reflects Sheila’s no-nonsense approach to developing strategies for business growth and patient loyalty. Dental Protection will be distributing the book as an exclusive benefit for dentists in Scotland who are dental members of MPS to celebrates the 5th anniversary of our office in Edinburgh.

Kevin Lewis, Dental Protection's Dental Director said: 'If you're interested in building a more profitable patient-centred and health-led practice, then this book is for you. It is a wonderful message and a very practical way for us to celebrate this milestone in Scotland together with the members who have supported us along the way.’
