Our People
Our Dentolegal Consultants
Our dentolegal consultants are dentists who have gone on to develop other skills to support the services we provide. Many of them have a legal qualification in addition to their dental qualifications. The majority of our consultants still practice dentistry and are very aware of the issues that face colleagues on a daily basis. With more than fifty dentolegal consultants working internationally, there is always somebody in the organisation who has the experience to assist you when a problem arises – no matter how unusual it might seem.

Around The World
The main jurisdictions where Dental Protection has members besides the UK are Australia, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Caribbean and Bermuda, Israel and Kenya. However, we do have smaller numbers of members in other countries, so it is often possible to continue your membership, even in unlikely places, for example if you are doing voluntary work overseas.
There are some notable countries where we do not offer permanent membership – particularly the USA and Canada. However, even in these jurisdictions, membership offers access to dentolegal assistance for Good Samaritan acts and for students on their electives.

MPS Council
MPS Council is the name given to MPS’s board of directors, and the majority of its members are eminent clinicians elected by the membership. The Council meets around eight times a year. Council exercises discretion in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
As the majority of Council members are healthcare professionals, members can be assured that their cases will be dealt with by experts in the field.
